Mooi ontwerp, sober maar speels. Bovenkant van het pennetje misschien iets te veel associatie met een hoge hoed. Mooie compositie en positionering letters en beeld. We missen in het beeldmerk nog de associatie met Loevestein. Die is niet per se noodzakelijk maar wellicht is het mogelijk om hier toch nog iets van aan te brengen zonder het huidige ontwerp geweld aan te doen?

Thank you for your good rating. I have the idea that books are turned differently than here and that it figuratively looks like Loevenstein. The tip of the feather and should resemble a high hat. I am currently at work, so I am not able to send you a new solution until the expiration of the competition. Do I have an alternative to solve it after 6pm?

Hi Manche, thank you for your response. The high hat is nice, but for us there is too much an association with a higher class public. And we also want to reach out for a younger public. We agree that if you turn the books differtently they look more like Loevestein. That castle has a specific form (two towers on the outside and a smaller one in between). It is a pity that we didn't receive your design earlier, because it really has potential. We really want to make an exception on the deadline, but that wouldn't been fair to the others. For us it's also important that there is a connection between the design of Letteren of Loevestein en our other pitch: the design of Woerkums Literair Café. It's not necessary that we choose for both designs the same designer, but the chance that both designs strengthen eachother when coming from the same designer is bigger.
Hopefully you find a little bit more time, but when we make the final decision this evening we will certainly consider the potentials of this design.
